the Inn experience begins as the
wrought iron gates swing open
to welcome you to the three-quarter mile private drive.
You will pass a rushing trout stream,
drive through a lush green valley,
cross over the bridge by the trickle down ponds,
pass the horses playing in a mountain meadow
and drive up and away to the
fern and flower-bedecked verandah,
which offers a comfortable seat and a breathtaking view.
The environment of the Inn is a contrast in expansiveness
and intimacy. From the verandah, mountain ranges recede into smoky blue shadows,
while on the arbor side of the Inn, the stone garden climbs 50 feet, flanking
a 24-foot waterfall surrounded by an enclosed lawn.
Inside the country elegant Inn are spacious rooms furnished with oriental rugs,
antiques, huge stone fireplaces, books galore, with deep chairs and sofas for
leisurely pursuits.
